To ensure seriousness and professionalism of submissions, the following selection criteria will be used to evaluate submitted proposals and works to the Bachelor of Arts Exhibition (BAX):
Work should be well thought-through and intentionally considered during both its inception and creation, in order to present a mature and well-reasoned piece.
Originality of work
Although it may certainly draw on and reference other artists, work should not mimic other work too closely and should be able to distinguish itself as unique in some way.
Work should have a professional and finished look and be ready to installed in the gallery. The most important thing to remember when preparing your work is that it is your responsibility to prepare it for exhibition. The Faulconer Gallery is not responsible for matting or framing any works for exhibition. Works submitted to the Salon will be reviewed by Gallery staff prior to jurying and will be removed from consideration if they are not properly prepared.
Work should display some level of artistic skill aligned with the intent of the piece.
Non-hazardous to Faulconer Gallery
Work cannot damage Faulconer Gallery in any way. Work should be easily removable and not stain or scratch the Gallery. Works that involve liquids in any form must also be discussed before they are submitted. Use of liquids is discouraged, and usually disqualified.
